Melissa Kaye TESTIMONIAL
As a teenager I was naturally super slim, I ate whatever I liked, hated exercise so simply didn’t do any! However everything changed in 2008 when I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, my body shape completely changed due to the illness and the medication I was placed on. The meds helped combat the disease, but took away the super slim body I’d grown used to over my 21 years.
I became very self conscious, for the first time I battled with weight gain and changes to my body that I was just not used to. I was unhappy with my body, I simply couldn’t wear whatever I wanted anymore and this severely knocked my confidence. In 2013 after a girls holiday I decided whilst I couldn’t help the changes made by my medication, I could try and make a difference myself.
That’s when I reached out to Triston and began my PT sessions, after years of hating exercise I was shocked to find I absolutely loved it! Triston made me feel completely at ease and comfortable during my sessions. He pushed me to my limits without putting me off, he helped me take control of my body.
Triston also helped with my diet. He educated me on healthy sensible ways of dieting, not starving myself, but fuelling my body. 4 years later and I’m still training with him, I can’t believe how much exercise has helped with my Crohn’s. Even when I’ve had a week or month off, Triston has adapted my program to suit so I can still train.
I feel strong, fit, healthy but more important I feel confident again. Just like any other girl, I would love to be slimmer, more toned in places etc, but I’d say I have the healthy balance where I can enjoy my social life (have my cheat days) but also maintain a good fitness and nutritional regime.
